Works of fiction, documentary, video-dance, performance art, and all manner of hybrids, offer a panoramic view of the preternatural, as we travel from the majestic caverns of ancient Spanish churches, beneath the waves of Norway to the Colombian Pacific, and across the aisles of a supermarket into a bowl of soup. 

The programme is concerned with phantoms of the familiar, suggestions of the supernatural bearing down on life, which force us to confront our preconceptions of the world.

We are very excited to share with you, after watching more than 900 short films from all over the world, our selection of 15 fiery shorts. We wanted to show all facets of summer, so we included energetic video dances and fictions about lethargy. Whether you’re in a pool house in San Pedro or a tourist in Gibraltar, we want to take you back to the emotions stirred up by the sun, the ocean and, why not, the ashes of a summer love.

We chose 15 short films, from more than 500 from all over the world, which were made with what was possible during quarantine, others deal with isolation from a more dreamlike or symbolic place. There is a little of everything: humor and simplicity, complex and deep, made by children and amateurs, made by workers of the industry.
